Frequently Asked Questions...
How does online tutoring work? We use Zoom as our online learning platform. It's a great mix of text and images using a whiteboard. Both the tutor and the student can work on the same document in real time.
How long is each session? Most of the lessons are approximately 55 minutes long. However, we offer shorter sessions too. Ask us about these for your specific requirements.
Do you tutor during the school holidays? Yes. We have tutors available during the school holidays to ensure your child does not 'lose' valuable learning gained during term time. Should you wish to take a holiday, we can accommodate this too.
What equipment will my child need? We use Zoom as our online platform. This is totally free for you to download. As a preference, a quiet place where your child can concentrate without distractions ensures your child gets the most out of their learning. It can be helpful to have a notepad and pen available to make any notes. Some students prefer to use headphones but these are not essential. You can ask us more at your free introductory Zoom call if you are unsure.
How and when do I pay? For the first lesson, it is usually a full paid trial where we can work with your child to identify their exact learning needs. Further weekly sessions can be purchased on our site in the 'book online' section.
Are there any other costs with online learning? The cost you see on the booking page is the only cost you will pay for your lesson. There are 'no hidden extras'. We do not charge extra for homework.
